We're at the halfway mark in this series. That is unless there's going to be an extension. Haven't heard anything about it.
Knowing that Chae Won is watching, Joo Ri swaps slobbers with Se Yoon. Does he taste like sour mash, Joo Ri? She packs him away in the car then walks over to Chae Won and thanks her ex-SIL for all she did today to help Joo Ri finally get her man. One must respect The Burn.
But as they drive away (Se Yoon is passed out) Joo Ri begins to cry. Her first sloppy kiss with Se Yoon and he had to be mistaking her for Dead Girlfriend. She and Clingy Mom get the drunk-ass boy to bed. Clingy Mom can't help but notice Joo Ri is crying and asks what's wrong. Joo Ri tells her about Se Yoon kissing her yet calling her by Dead Girlfriend's name.
Crazy Hong Joo comes home to face the music. What the hell is Chul Goo wearing now? I've said it before and I'm going to say it again: whoever is in charge of wardrobe needs to be tarred and feathered. Anyway, Evil Mother-In-Law starts yelling at Crazy Wife. Crazy Wife yells right back. I love the shocked look on EMIL's face. She's not used to a daughter-in-law who fights back. Chul Goo just sits there in his hideous outfit. Crazy Wife has another one of her screaming fits. Where's the prison matron?! We need her, STAT! Oh thank goodness, here she is. Did you bring the holy water? No, but Mrs. Park does have a plastic bag and knows how to use it to get Hong Joo to calm down.
Joo Ri arrives home (missing out on all this drama) and starts packing her bags. EMIL comes in to find out why her daughter is threatening to leave home. Joo Ri declares her life is over. EMIL tries to tell her the truth (there are other fish in the sea) but Joo Ri refuses to believe she'll love anyone other than Se Yoon. She cries and screams (but not as well as Crazy Wife.)
Chul Goo is in his bedroom spinning around in his plush chair as he waits for his crazy wife to wake up. They immediately get into another fight. Hong Joo now understands and feels sympathy for Chae Won and what she must have gone through. Chul Goo lifts his limp-wristed hand in a (not really) threatening manner but Hong Joo isn't cowed at all, calling him "Moma Boy." Chul Goo goes downstairs to get his drink on only to find his sister has beaten him to the bottle.
Se Yoon wakes up in his bed to discover Clingy Mom is just sitting there watching him. I know, creepy. Since last night is a blank to him, Clingy Mom has to tell Se Yoon how it was Joo Ri who got him home and she appeared to be really upset because he called her by the wrong name. At that very moment Joo Ri is running away from home. She's left a note for EMIL to not look for her as she needs to clear her head. It may take awhile. Good thing she won't be missed at her job as they're not used to seeing her there anyway.
EMIL goes downstairs to hear Chul Goo yelling over his phone for someone to come back home. She thinks it is Joo Ri but turns out Hong Joo has also packed her bags and run away from home.
At the office, Se Yoon shows no signs of a hangover as he holds a business meeting. The company is looking for a new recipe for the best tasting noodle ever. Turns out I spoke to soon and at least one person is missing Joo Ri at work. Se Yoon asks Flunky about her and Flunky breaks it to him that Joo Ri sent a resignation e-mail in.
Se Yoon returns to his office to find EMIL waiting for him. She gets down on her knees and begs Se Yoon not to reject Joo Ri just because EMIL is her mother. As EMIL is leaving the building she runs into Chae Won. Ah, the perfect patsy to take her anger out on. Chae Won, as always, just stands there and takes it. Se Yoon walks up to return EMIL's handbag which she had left in his office.
Chae Won tries to walk into work when Se Yoon demands she explain herself after all he's accused her of. It's a little too late don't you think, jackass? That's almost what Chae Won says to him, minus the jackass part. He didn't want to listen to her before and now Chae Won doesn't want to waste her time clearing up his misunderstandings.
Chul Goo (wearing purple pants!!! And those multi-colored shoes!!!) wants to play big brother and go beat up the guy who broke his sister's heart. EMIL won't tell him who the guy is, though. That's a reveal for a later episode. They're at Mommy's office when they have a visit from Sour Puss, Crazy Wife's mother. Sour Puss is here to be sour. She wants to know why Chul Goo hasn't slept with his wife yet. This is news to EMIL.
Since the marriage hasn't been registered yet, Sour Puss wants Chul Goo to sign a prenuptial agreement. Part of the contract states if Chul Goo ever fools around (which he has a history of) then Hong Joo gets 50% of his assets. Another point makes Chul Goo "be with" his wife at least once a week or he has to pay. And when I say "be with" I don't mean holding her bag while she tries on clothes at the mall. Chul Goo refuses to sign and storms out. Sour Puss offers EMIL an incentive. Her rich clan will help EMIL get started in the home shopping market if EMIL gets her son to sign the contract.
Chae Won is working late at the cafeteria. She gets to talking with a cleaning lady. When she learns the woman hasn't had much to eat today, Chae Won decides to whip up some food for the cleaning crew to enjoy. (I'm not sure what she made. It looks like a salad with a gob of noodles on top, all smashed into a plastic cup.) Se Yoon, hiding behind Joo Ri's big plant, overhears the women praising Chae Won's delicious concoction. Remember, he's looking for a new recipe for the company.
At home, EMIL presents Chul Goo with the contract and a pen she stole from a third grader. Chul Goo (I'll refrain from commenting on his current wardrobe choice) knows his mother and that she must be getting something in return for him signing. He stubs up. For the second time in this episode, EMIL gets down on her knees. Chul Goo reluctantly signs and stomps up to his room.
Wherever she's at, Joo Ri is listening to her voicemail messages. One is from Se Yoon who apologizes for the other night and assures her he didn't accept her resignation email so she still has a job.
As Se Yoon's house, Sensible Dad is not happy. He wants to see his son immediately. Dad has heard all the evil rumors swirling around at work and he wants to know what's going on. Please tell me Sensible Dad will at least allow Chae Won to defend herself.
Clingy Mom rushes over to the office building to encounter Chae Won. With no explanation at all, Clingy Mom bitch slaps Chae Won not once but twice! Once again Chae Won isn't given any sort of chance to explain anything. Clingy Mom raises her hand for a third bitch slap when Se Yoon finally moves in and grabs her wrist.
