A Hundred Year's Inheritance (Abridged) Episode 7

Last time on The Adventures of Stupid Girl: Chae Won still hadn't bought a clue, but Se Yoon had and he totally figured out Evil Mother-In-Law's nefarious plans! Now if only he could get Chae Won to listen to him. Silly man. Stupid Girl never listens.

Stupid Girl deserves a theme song.

Stupid Girl/Stupid Girl
Empty head is in a whirl
Has no memories of her past
Mother-in-law is such an ass
Look out!
Here comes the Stupid Girl

A drunken Chul Goo throws a glass at Chae Won. This causes her to have brief flashbacks of the other time he threw a glass at her. EMIL comes running in to comfort her son and to order Chae Won to clean up the glass he just threw at her! After they leave the room, the house keeper comes in and lets slip how this situation is like the last time he injured her. Chae Won tries to force herself to remember.

Se Yoon is in his office when his dad drops by to hand his son an invitation. Chae Won's family (which he doesn't know is her family) is throwing a centennial celebration for the family noodle business. Dad explains how Se Yoon's grandfather had been good friends with one of the previous owners of the noodle factory which is why they sent the invitation. Dad wants Se Yoon to attend and represent their family.

Just as he's starting to leave, Se Yoon receives a phone call from Seok Joon, his buddy from the mental hospital (I'd better start using his name), to let him know the buddy is going to be in Seoul today. So Se Yoon calls Chae Won to try and work out a gathering of all three of them. Of course Chae Won says no and to not call her again.

Because EMIL won't let her use the chauffeured car, Chae Won must ride the bus to her family's centennial celebration. Good thing there was a map included with the invitation, otherwise Chae Won wouldn't remember how to get there.

No one else seems to show up for the shindig. C'mon, people, it's free food! How can you pass that up? I take that back. A dead man shows up. See - dead men appreciate free food.

Chae Won's dad is pleased that she showed up for the celebration but also advises her not to tell anyone about her amnesia as it would make her grandparents worry. As they walk in together, seeing the noodles hanging outside (where any bird could crap on them, really!) causes Chae Won to have a memory of when she was a child.

Chul Goo wakes up from his drunk nap and panics to find Chae Won isn't there. Suspicious that she's with Se Yoon, Chul Goo goes to his in-laws place just to check up on her. Just as Chae Won is starting to leave is when Se Yoon finally shows up. She thinks he's been stalking her and never gives him a chance to get a word in edgewise about why he's there. And of course this is when Chul Goo drives up and sees them together. He jumps out of his car and slugs Se Yoon. Again, Se Yoon takes being attacked pretty well and simply asks, "Who are you?" Dude, you just got punched in the face! React!

Chul Goo gets back in his car and Chae Won jumps in with him. They don't get very far before he pulls over and orders her out. As she's standing by the side of the road she gets a phone call from a doctor to confirm a 5 o'clock mental health appointment. (Huh? What?)  From what I gather, Chae Won was having therapy even before the amnesia. The doctor recorded their previous sessions and plays them back for Chae Won.

The pre-recorded Chae Won describes how, just after returning from the honeymoon, her mother-in-law pressured her into signing a post-nup agreement so Chae Won couldn't get any more money. At another time EMIL forced Chae Won to get on birth control. Her marriage quickly unravels and she suspects her husband is having an affair.

When next time Chae Won gets a call from Se Yoon, she' s more receptive to meeting him. and his buddy, Seok Joon. Seok Joon explains to her how he'd never met her but he knew she was at the mental hospital under tight security. Only one nurse and the hospital director had access to her. Also, and this is very important, Se Yoon finally, FINALLY, pulls out his passport and shows Chae Won that he's been in America for the last three years.

Stupid Girl still has her doubts and pulls out the photos taken of her and Se Yoon, cause those are the kinds of things you want to carry around with you wherever you go. Se Yoon is able to explain most of the pictures as when he was helping her leave the mental hospital and when they were at his buddy's house. One picture, however, makes it look like they're about to kiss. Seok Joon takes a look at it and quickly realizes it has been photo shopped.

Now that he's been vindicated, Chae Won at least apologizes to him. Se Yoon urges her to get out of that house of evil, and to never cross his path again. Se Yoon returns home and flashes back to what just happened five seconds ago. Chae Won returns home with an ulterior motive. She's looking for her missing luggage which may contain the proof her pre-recorded self said she had concerning her husband's cheating. Chul Goo finds her sneaking around and accuses her of talking on her phone with her supposed lover. Chul Goo starts to slap her and yes! Chae Won gets some backbone and grabs his arm before he can make contact.

EMIL comes into the room to see what all the noise is about. She thinks Chae Won is attacking her pwecious widdle boy and does an old lady tackle, throwing Chae Won to the floor. Chae Won just laughs and asks if they're going to put her in a mental hospital again. EMIL and son seemed a bit startled that she knows this much of the truth.

Again, not much of a cliffhanger.

A Hundred Year's Inheritance (Abridged) Episode 6

Last time on The Adventures of Stupid Girl, Chae Won was oh so easily convinced that pre-amnesia she was having an affair with bland boy Se Yoon.

Chae Won dashes a glass of water in Se Yoon's face. I must say, he takes it pretty coolly. Myself, I would have been over that table and all up in her grill. Se Yoon then accuses her of faking her amnesia in some WTF gold digging plot to get money from men. Chae Won seems to be upset that he would break up with her just because she has amnesia. After all they meant to each other! At least according to EMIL.

Se Yoon asks the very, very, very valid question of why would she believe what EMIL says and not believe anything Se Yoon says. Chae Won won't stay long enough to hear his side. As she gets up to leave, Chae Won gives him the parting advice  to straighten up his life and stop having affairs with married women.

Stupid Girl, ladies and gentlemen. Stupid Girl.

Se Yoon finally gets some fire in him. He goes chasing her down before she gets very far, demanding that she stop and hear what he has to say. She accuses him of lying about her being a patient at the mental hospital as she learned for herself there were no records of her ever being admitted. Se Yoon knows that's not right as his buddy at the hospital saw her charts.

Meanwhile, EMIL and Chul Goo are celebrating his recent election to president of the company. Chul Goo again swears that he'll treat Chae Won so much better. EMIL, of course, thinks otherwise. Now that the important election is over, she sees no reason for Chul Goo and Chae Won's divorce to be put off any longer.

Se Yoon asks Joo Ri out to go get drunk. So romantic.

EMIL returns home to find Chae Won... Good Lord, what is she doing?!? She's got a bed comforter in the bath tub and she's stomping it with her bare feet (while wearing a dress). Anyway, Chae Won announces she'll tell her husband the "truth" about her affair and beg for his forgiveness, the way she's begging EMIL for her forgiveness.

Their conversation is interrupted when Chul Goo returns home bearing all sorts of celebratory gifts for his wife, including a pearl necklace. Mom, who didn't t get any gifts, looks like she's about to cough up her liver. Just as soon as he goes upstairs to change, EMIL tears the necklace from Chae Won's throat and reminds her what a cheating hussy she is. The housekeeper sees this little episode and tries to warn Chae Won that if she thinks this is bad, it was a whole lot worse back before the amnesia.

Se Yoon gets buzzed with Joo Ri and goes on and on about how great his dead girlfriend is. So romantic.

Joo Ri ends up taking the nearly passed out Se Yoon back to his house. So romantic.

EMIL orders Chae Won to sleep in the spare bedroom so there's no risk of an unexpected pregnancy.

The next day a hungover Se Yoon decides to tackle his problems head on by arranging another meeting with Chae Won but also with EMIL there as well. Se Yoon gets right to the point and tells EMIL that if she doesn't quit telling lies about him, he'll sue her for slander. (This is about the first time I've come to like Se Yoon. For this as well as him telling Chae Won to shut up and listen.) EMIL sticks with her story, though, that he and Chae Won were lovers. She pulls out the pictures she had taken of them and dares Se Yoon to sue her and make all this public.

(Viewers over at Viki wonder why Se Yoon doesn't simply produce proof that he was out of the country during the time EMIL claims the affair took place. The explanation is simple: the writers ain't that smart.)

Out in the parking lot, EMIL orders Chae Won to move back in with her family, then she leaves her ass there. Se Yoon comes out and tries to get Chae Won to sit down and clearly think about the whole situation. Doesn't she find it all odd? Silly man. Stupid Girl never stops to think things through.

Chul Goo comes home after work and his surprised to find his wife packing her bags. He's even more surprised when EMIL openly admits she's the one who ordered Chae Won to leave. Chul Goo... are those great big hearts all over his sweater? Anyway, he sees Mom is back to her evil ways and plans to simply move out with Chae Won. EMIL shows him the copies of the pictures of Chae Won and Se Yoon. Just how many copies did she have made? Chul Goo, conveniently forgetting all the times he was the one doing the cheating, has the nerve to be offended. EMIL thinks her plans have finally come to fruition and there will be a divorce. Doesn't she know the best laid plans of mice and men often go awry? Chul Goo refuses to give Chae Won a divorce because he doesn't want her to be free to be with Se Yoon.

Lawdy, it's gettin' deep in here.

Back at his office, and apparently well over his hangover, Se Yoon starts to figure the whole thing out. He gets back in contact with his buddy and asks him to get definite proof Chae Won has been a patient at the hospital. Hallelujah!

Chul Goo is getting scary drunk and threatening Chae Won. He angrily throws his glass against the wall. The only good thing about this is it causes Chae Won to have brief flashbacks to the last time he threw a glass at her and cut her neck.

Surely I'm not the only one who has noticed there is absolutely zero chemistry between Eugene and Lee Jung Jin.

A Hundred Year's Inheritance (Abridged) Episode 5

Off Topic: I highly recommend you read Dirty Little Secrets by C. J. Omololu.

On Topic: When last we saw our beleaguered belle, the writers failed to give her much of a cliffhanger.

Chae Won asks Se Yoon to continue to help her delve into the mystery of why she was the mental hospital in the first place. Se Yoon, for the umpteenth time, declares he's done with her and her problems, goodbye.

Chae Won returns home to find her dad is waiting for her outside. He wants to have a father/daughter date with her in hopes of jogging her memory. Why she doesn't come out and ask Dad for help with the mental hospital mystery is, well, a mystery. She does tentatively ask if she was ever depressed enough to be committed somewhere but Dad just brushes such poppycock away.

Back at home, Chae Won attempts to again speak with the house keeper, but the woman is too afraid of EMIL to say anything useful. Chae Won then does the stupid thing of asking EMIL about the mental hospital. EMIL replies Se Yoon must be lying for some reason as Chae Won was never in a mental hospital. With fake tears in her eyes, EMIL says she worries about her DIL recovering her memories as DIL won't like who she was. Chae Won asks her to be more specific but EMIL, with a catch in her throat, answers she's said too much already.

When Chul Goo learns his wife wants to go check out the mental hospital herself, he runs in a panic to mommy. EMIL tells him to allow Chae Won to go ahead and snoop around all she wants. She'll arrange for the hospital staff on her payroll to fix things.

Se Yoon reminisces about his dead girlfriend. (I have a bone to pick with Viki about this. In only five episodes the girlfriend has been referred to by three different names. Please choose one and stick with it!)

Chae Won looks out a fake window at fake scenery as she tries to figure out who is lying to her. The next day she goes to the hospital only to be told no one named Min Chae Won has been admitted there. They even allow her to check the security video tapes which don't show any signs of Chae Won on them. This convinces the stupid girl that it is Se Yoon who is lying to her, but for what reason?

Back at Se Yoon's job, they're having a taste test with a new noodle soup. Guess this means Se Yoon's family is also in the food business. Anyway, remember Se Yoon lost his sense of taste in the car accident that killed his girlfriend with three names, so he really can't say if the new soup is good or not. In the middle of the taste(less) test he receives a phone call from Stupid Girl. She wants to meet with him but he refuses.

That night when Stupid Girl returns home, EMIL starts spinning a tall tale. She shows the pictures of Chae Won and Se Yoon together and tells Chae Won that before her memory loss she was cheating on her husband with Se Yoon. Stupid Girl never questions that the pictures were taken of the times she was with him after her memory loss, not before. Furthermore, EMIL claims Se Yoon was planning on dropping Stupid Girl which is why he's lying and saying she was in a mental hospital. So now Stupid Girl believes she's the world's biggest hussy.

The next day Chae Won absolutely insists on Se Yoon meeting her at the coffee house where they were at in the beginning of this episode. It's deja vu all over again. She throws a glass of water in his face and accuses him of having an affair with her. Se Yoon is mildly shocked.

A Hundred Year's Inheritance (Abridged) Episode 4

When last we saw our traumatized protagonist, it was Death by Kiwi!

Suffering from a severe allergic reaction to the kiwi juice she just chugged down, Chae Won is packed into Se Yoon's vehicle and he whisks her away to the hospital. EMIL's secret photographer sends her pictures he snapped of the couple outside the hotel.

After Chae Won is treated, Se Yoon gets to wondering about the whole incident. He can understand amnesiatic Chae Won wouldn't remember she's allergic to kiwi, but since it was EMIL who ordered the drinks, surely EMIL would have known about the potentially deadly allergy.

Se Yoon contacts his old buddy at the mental hospital and asks him to look into Chae Won's case.

Chae Won returns home and changes into a horrendously ugly dress. EMIL acts all shocked and surprised that her DIL had to visit the emergency room and denies ever having ordered the drinks. Chae Won tries to talk with the house keeper and ask about her past but EMIL swoops in like a hawk and puts an end to any conversation. EMIL suggests to Chae Won to not say anything to Chul Goo about what happened this afternoon as it would just make him worry needlessly. (EMIL also "suggests" to the house keeper to keep her trap shut or she'll be looking for another job.)

Se Yoon starts his new job at the family company. Just don't ask me what they do. Joo Ri works at the company in the marketing department. This makes her stalking all the more easier. She makes it a point to run into Se Yoon and welcome him to the business.

Chae Won's dad drops by the house to gift his in-laws with some food. Chae Won has to be introduced to him since she doesn't remember Dad. He's quite devastated at her condition and he screeches at his in-laws for keeping this from him all this time. Dad wants to take his little girl home and take care of her, yet surprisingly Chae Won resists. This devastates Dad even more. Aw, poor Dad. He reluctantly agrees to allow Chae Won to stay where she's at but if she ever needs him, he'll come running.

Dad goes out and gets stinking drunk.

Se Yoon hears back from his buddy who explains it was hard to learn anything as the hospital's higher ups are keeping Chae Won's case under tight wraps.

The next day Se Yoon and Chae Won get together to compare notes.

And that's it. No cliffhanger.

A Hundred Year's Inheritance (Abridged) Episode 3

When last we saw our much put-upon heroine she was suffering from amnesia and mistakenly thought Se Yoon was her husband.

Se Yoon calls the mental hospital to tell them about the crazy woman he found in the road. He goes out to his car, complaining about what a bad day it has been, when a hand reaches out and grabs him. Ahhh! Oh, it's Chae Won. She's getting pretty good at escaping hospitals. She cries and begs Se Yoon not to leave her behind. Exasperated, Se Yoon agrees to at least take her to the mental hospital himself. Guess neither one thinks it is important to notify the medical hospital that she's leaving.

As they're pulling away, a mysterious man calls EMIL to inform her of Chae Won taking off with an unknown man. Mystery Man offers to bring Chae Won back but EMIL instead orders him to just keep an eye on the two and see what develops. Something useful may come of this.

They arrive at the mental hospital. While she can't remember why, Chae Won has a definite reaction to the place. She can't go back in there! Se Yoon again relents and turns the car around.

EMIL has to deal with a phone call from Chae Won's dad who has been trying to get in contact with his daughter. EMIL tells him Chae Won went to Canada with her husband. Dad totally buys this story, never bothering to ask for contact information or anything.

Stuff happens to other people.

Se Yoon takes Chae Won to a buddy's house. They'll spend the night here and then contact the police in the morning. Conveniently the buddy and his family had to suddenly leave for Seoul, so it'll just be the two of them. He makes free with the absent wife's clothes and offers some to Chae Won, who has nothing but hospital jammies on. From the bushes out back, another mystery man takes pictures of the two and emails them to EMIL's phone. The evil wheels of her evil mind start to turn evilly.

The next day EMIL tells her son about Chae Won's amnesia as they're driving to the police station to pick her up. Chul Goo, for some odd and unbelievable reason, has made an abrupt about face and now declares he will never give up his beloved wife. They both run in and cry over Chae Won because she can't remember them. Se Yoon is watching this horrific overacting display and is quite skeptical of these two but he can't legally stop them from taking Chae Won back with them.

Chul Goo and EMIL have Chae Won's head examined (literally) and learn that the blow from the rock isn't necessarily the cause of her memory loss. More than likely it is stress induced, meaning there's a good chance she can recover her memory.

Hail Mary! Chul Goo has finally decided to cut the apron strings and move himself and Chae Won out of the house. EMIL throws a temper tantrum to end all temper tantrums. When that doesn't appear to work, EMIL changes tactics and becomes repentant, promising to be a better mother to Chae Won. Chul Goo, the goofball idiot, totally believes her.

Se Yoon takes the world's smallest bouquet to his dead girlfriend's grave. He doesn't realize he's being stalked by Joo Ri. She decides a charnal house is the perfect place to make her move on Se Yoon. But hey, it seems to work as he agrees to have dinner with her.

EMIL contacts Se Yoon and offers to take him out to lunch as a way of thanking him for taking such good care of her daughter-in-law. She brings Chae Won along with her, not revealing who they're meeting for lunch. When the two women get to the restaurant, their guest hasn't arrived yet. EMIL tells Chae Won to go ahead and sit at the table while she goes to the bathroom. She watches from the sidelines as Se Yoon arrives shortly afterwards and is shown to the private dining room.

Chae Won and Se Yoon sit alone for awhile and make awkward small talk. Chae Won is logically trying to figure out why she was at a mental hospital in the first place. Se Yoon isn't much help. He just wants to eat! EMIL sends excuses that she has to leave. Two fruit juices are served and Chae Won chugs hers down, then starts to have an allergic reaction. Se Yoon helps her to his car to rush her to the hospital while EMIL's hired photographer takes pictures of the duo.

Three Kingdoms Episode 37

Let's see what that baby bouncer Liu Bei is up to today. Perhaps he'll chuck a toddler into a ditch. With two friggin' minutes of opening credits, I should have plenty of time to go to the kitchen and get something to drink.

Zhuge Liang advises Liu Bei to make an alliance with Sun Quan. (I can only hope this brings us closer to Ruby Lin finally clocking into the show.) As luck and the script would have it, the Southland has sent an envoy, Lu Su.

Lu Su comes right to the point about his visit. On the surface he's extending condolences over old man Liu Biao's death, while his real job is to put out feelers concerning Cao Cao's military strength. The news is not good as Cao Cao has a shitload of men and materiel. Lu Su agrees that at this point they need each other to face the Prime Minister. Zhuge Liang volunteers to accompany Lu Su back to meet with Sun Quan.

Meanwhile, Cao Cao's beard is getting even bushier. He makes the announcement that with the spring thaw he will lead a million man march across the Yangtze and deal with Liu Bei once and for all (again). He plans for this to be his last fight and afterwards he will retire from the battlefield. Yeah, right.

What it all boils down to is the build up to the famous Battle of Red Cliff. I still haven't seen the movie. I worry whether the show will have the money to do this right.

Cao Cao has the message sent to Sun Quan proposing their own alliance in hunting down Liu Bei. Oh, Cao Cao knows it ain't gonna happen. What he's doing is psychological warfare, getting the people of the Southland all up in arms because Cao Cao and his army are coming.

Lu Su and Zhuge Liang arrive at their destination, already knowing about Cao Cao's missive. Lu Su is summoned to appear immediately before Sun Quan. Worrywart Zhang Zhao is droning on and on about how outnumbered and outclassed the Southland is by Cao Cao's army. He recommends they just give up now in hopes of Cao Cao taking it easy on them.  Some other no name courtiers back Zhang Zhao. Sun Quan asks for time alone to think about it.

Alone (well, except for all the guards and eunuchs standing around that is) Lu Su explains to his master why it's so easy for the others to recommend surrender. For minor pencil pushers like them life will go on the same no matter who is in charge. They don't have anything to lose while it is Sun Quan who has everything to lose. Furthermore, Lu Su warns Sun Quan that if he does surrender he'll just end up tucked away with the useless Han Emperor and the useless Liu Cong. He compares it to a birdcage, and three birds in a cage is very crowded. Very wise, Lu Su. I like you. Much better than that blowhard, Zhuge Liang.

After some rest, Zhuge Liang is brought in to the court. Zhang Zhao starts running his mouth. He's one of those people who smiles all friendly while gently insulting you over and over. His main point is how Liu Bei used to be a formidable warrior and statesman, but ever since he's been listening to Zhuge Liang's advice, he's lost everything and is on the run from Cao Cao. Umm, he's right, ya know.

Zhuge Liang counters with the retelling of how Liu Bei, outnumbered 5 to 1 by Cao Cao, was able to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat at The Battle That Happened Off Screen. Plus Liu Bei was magnanimous enough to refuse to abandon his peasants as they all fled for Jiangxia.

Next up is another courtier to try his hand at putting Liu Bei down. Zhuge Liang brags about how at least his master is not afraid to fight, unlike some other people who are scaredy cats *cough* allyoupeopleintheroom *cough*

Zhuge Liang continues to work his way down the room, counterattacking every argument thrown at him. Finally old man Huang Gai comes in and basically tells everyone to shut their traps, its time to meet Sun Quan.

Before meeting his master, Lu Su asks Zhuge Liang to not ever never ever no way no how mention how big Cao Cao's army is. He asks this at least three times. So naturally the very first thing Sun Quan asks is how big is Cao Cao's army and naturally Zhuge Liang tells him one million. Way to go, Zhuge.

Otomen Episode 1

Masamune Asuka is a sensitive young boy who wears an apron and holds tea parties with his stuffed dolls. Yet his beloved father is accepting of his slightly different ways. One day Asuka gets his George Washington on and confesses to Dad that he accidentally broke off a branch from Dad's cherry tree. Dad praises Asuka's honesty which leads to confessions from everyone. The most shocking, though, comes from Dad. He always wanted to be.... a woman!

This announcement sends Mom into shock. As she's being wheeled down the hallway of a hospital (with the strangest doctor attending her), Mom makes Asuka promise to never be like his Dad. Asuka goes home and packs all his stuffed dolls away, swearing he'll be more manlike for Mom.

It's a few years down the road now. Asuka is in high school and on the manly Kendo team. He's got his own fangirls cheering him from the stands. (I still refuse to believe teenage Japanese girls act like this in real life.) Asuka defeats every one of his opponents.

As Asuka is leaving the arena, he sees a thin young teenager, Ariake Yamato, being robbed by a group of bullies. He's about to come to the rescue when he's beaten to the punch by a girl who attempts to shame the bullies into giving the boy's wallet back. Shame is a wimpy weapon, so indeed Asuka gets a chance to step in and whack a mole.

The next day at Asuka's class, we see he has a friggin' pink idiot of a teacher. She and the other girls in the class make fools of themselves over Asuka's victory. Do I spy with my little eye - a Japanese with an Afro?!? Anyway, after the girls stop screaming, the boys take turns being mean to 40-year-old student Isono. I don't understand your humor, Japan.

Lets get to the part where Teacher introduces the new transfer student. It's Miyakozuka Ryo, the girl from yesterday. Since she and Asuka have already met, the fangirls find themselves quite jealous of Ryo, while all the boys are eager to get her email address.

The three bullies from earlier are instructed by their boss, Tonomine Hajime, to take Asuka down.

With Mom away on a business trip (guess she survived that shock over her husband-slash-wife), Asuka has the privacy to relax and sew his little heart out! Knit one, pearl two. It's a good thing. Does Japan have the Lifetime network? Oh no, he forgot to close the blinds and school playboy Tachibana Juta has seen Asuka's secret life.

In home ec class, Ryo is making a horrible mess of a cake. Asuka is just dying to step in and straighten her out, but that would ruin his manly image. Finally he can take no more and takes over her cake education. Ryo does nothing but say "Hai" throughout this sequence. Kind of getting on my nerves there, Ryo.

And now I want cake.

The Bullies have come to bully. They're looking for Asuka and send a text message ordering him to come to the kendojo right now. Problem is they sent it to the wrong email address. It's Ryo who gets the message. She arrives to find the Bullies have trashed the place.

Asuka, fetched by Ariake, shows up just in time. Tonomine reminds Asuka that if he gets involved in any trouble he won't be able to compete in the next big Kendo competition. Ryo tries her shame weapon again. Once again it doesn't work. Asuka challenges Tonomine to one-on-one Kendo action without protective gear. Finally some excitement.

Bullies being bullies, one of Tonomine's thugs hits Asuka from behind. Just as Black T-Shirt Guy is about to slug Asuka, Ryo comes in with a high kick. For extra points she takes down all of the bullies, and she doesn't need a big stick to do it. It's about time you did something useful, Ryo.

A Hundred Year's Inheritance Episode 2

While there are lots of scenes with the other members of the cast, frankly they're boring. I'm just sticking with the Chae Won/nut house storyline.

Min Chae Won is screaming like a crazy person about how she's not a crazy person.

Useless husband Chul Goo is drinking and thinking back to when EMIL told him her plans to lock Chae Won up at least until after the shareholders meeting. For one brief moment Chul Goo has the decency to argue that you just don't do this to someone! Then he caves in like the momma's boy he is.

Se Yoon drinks salty coffee and reminisces about his dead girlfriend. They were going to get married although mom Baek Sul Joo was against it. The salt in the coffee to is show the audience that Se Yoon has lost his ability to taste since the accident. Not much of a dramatic illness, Show. I mean, so he can't taste. So what?

The next day Se Yoon leaves early to go visit an old friend who apparently works at the mental hospital where Chae Won is being held. The orderly is taking her down for an interview with a psychiatrist. They're walking through the hallway when she sees Se Yoon going into the men's room. She suddenly cries out that she really needs to go to the toilet and she dashes into the women's room. No one is in there but she comes back out to say all the stalls are full, she'll have to go in the men's room.

In the men's room, Chae Won tries to convince Se Yoon to help her but let's be honest - if you're in a mental hospital and someone in pajamas is saying "I'm not crazy!" you're not going to believe them. Neither does Se Yoon. Chae Won grabs his cell phone and tries to make a phone call but is stopped by the orderlies. They drag her screaming down the hallway.

A much calmer Chae Won is returned to her room. As a way of apologizing to the orderlies for her behavior, she invites them to stay for a cup of coffee. (Really? They have coffee makers in the rooms of mental patients? Really?) Chae Won has been hoarding the sleeping pills the nurse has been giving her and uses them to drug the drinks.

That evening Chae Won sees her chance and makes her break. (Those were some slow-acting sleeping pills.) She makes it outside and is chased in the rain by the second orderly who didn't drink the coffee. She slips and rolls down a steep hill, hitting her head on a rock along the way. She ends up in the middle of the road where she's found by Se Yoon who takes her to a medical hospital.

You'll never guess what happens next. You'll never guess!

She has amnesia.

Bet you never expected that from a Korean drama.

Queen of Ambition Episode 1

Also known as Yawang. Also known as Night King. Also known as Wild King. Whatever you want to call it, you can see them all over at Viki.

Prosecutor Ha Ryu (played by Kwon Sang Woo) is being driven in a little car with a siren. The press are following closely, perhaps dangerously close, as they try to predict where the "Independent Council" is going. (I'm assuming that means Ha Ryu is the Independent Council.) They're surprised to see Ha Ryu is heading for the Blue House (Korea's White House) to perform a search and seizure.

Interspersed with this are scenes (that irrationally and irritatingly flip upside down sometimes) of First Lady Joo Dae Hae (played by Soo Ae) and her posse entering a crowded room. (I'm not really a big fan of Soo Ae. She always seems to have the same expression on her face no matter what's going on.) She's greeted with applause and camera flashes as she makes her way to the stage to host a children's orchestra.

Meanwhile a reporter helps fill us in on what the big deal is. The Independent Council is investigating Dae Hae for bribery. Ha Ryu arrives at the Blue House with his own posse and those ever-lovin' blue boxes. He wants to talk the First Lady personally but she refuses to leave in the middle of the concert. So the mountain goes to Muhammad and Ha Ryu crashes the concert. Kinda rude, Ryu. Why spoil this moment for the kids? You could have waited.

She takes Ryu to her private rooms because he wants to get into her... safe. What did you think he wanted to get into? Pervert. Dae Hae politely warns him she'll have her revenge some day. He softly wonders if the country's First Lady is also a murderer. Dae Hae looks... like she always looks, because she's Soo Ae. She opens the safe, not seeing Ryu starting to tear up at the thought of her being a killer. She whips out a pistol from the safe and aims it at Ryu. He doesn't back down, telling her she doesn't belong here in the Blue House and to go back to where she came from.

Out in the hallway, the Secret Service hear a gun shot. They can't open the door because she locked it. An agent starts shooting at the door lock. That's some secure door as it takes several shots to get anywhere. Inside the room, Dae Hae leans up against Ryu as blood drops on the floor between them. Ryu wonders to himself how they both ended up this way.

And we won't see the outcome of this scene for another 23 episodes.

Time travel back twelve years before this. Ha Ryu has traveled to Seoul and met up with his bud, Yang Taek Bae (played by Kwan Hyun Sang, the bad vampire from Vampire Prosecutor 2.) Ryu has come to help Taek Bae get back some money from a vicious girl that has Taek Bae shaking in his boots. (The girl better not be Soo Ae. There's absolutely no way she could make anyone shake in their boots.)

Ryu takes the initiative and bursts into the house of said vicious girl. Instead he finds the body of a dead woman covered with a sheet. Dae Hae is kneeling nearby but she just keels right over in a faint. Ryu has her taken to the hospital. As he rides with her in the ambulance, Ryu thinks back to the last time he saw Dae Hae.

Stay with me now. We're time traveling back seven years before the twelve years before the first scene of the show.

Ryu is now being played by Crybaby Chunchu from The King's Dream. Boy, you better not cry. Anyway, he's being separated from Child Dae Hae because she's being reunited with her birth mother. Dae Hae gives him a white die to remember her by. Ryu in turn... shoves her to the ground! What the hell, Chunchu?!? Dae Hae simply gets back up and wishes him well. Ah, spoke too soon. Ryu runs off and has a cry.

Okay, we're back to the present. Well, no, we're not. It's still the past, just not the past past. Dae Hae's mother died three days ago. Dae Hae hadn't eaten or drunk anything in that time is why she fainted. She worries about not having the money to pay for the hospital or a funeral. Ryu comes to her rescue and takes out all his savings to pay the bills.

At the mother's funeral, Dae Hae flashes back to when she was a little girl (but before she was the little girl Chunchu shoved to the ground) when her parents tried to kill themselves by car fumes. Mom managed to survive but Dad took Route 666.

I don't know about you but I'm exhausted from all this time traveling.

After the cremation, Dae Hae and Mom's Ashes are returning home when she's met by a rather handsome man who may be her step brother. He warns her that Mom's second husband has been nosing around the house. Dae Hae expresses her desire to kill her stepdad. Once the coast is clear she hurriedly packs her bags and disappears into the night.

Nevermind that, what's the cute guy's name?

Ryu comes to deliver some food, only to find Dae Hae gone without a trace. As he starts to leave he sees and is seen by Stepdad, but does he recognize the man? I'm not sure. But Stepdad notes the truck Ryu is driving which is plastered with the name of the ranch Ryu works at.

Dae Hae calls in a favor from an old friend from school to get a job tutoring the friend's younger sister. The mother is not thrilled to have Dae Hae in the house so the job doesn't last very long. As she leaves, Dae Hae steals the mother's diamond ring, later throwing it into someone's garbage can.

Next, Dae Hae goes to try and get a job at a bar, which in Korean culture seems to be a terrible shame for a woman. I guess a bar girl is just one step away from a prostitute. However, Taek Bae sees her and immediately calls Ryu who comes running to stop her.

Dae Hae explains she can't go back home because of Stepdad, who did the Bad Touch back when she was a kid. Ryu invites her to come live with him at the ranch. A montage shows how Dae Hae studies hard to get into college while Ryu studies how to make horse shoes. (How do you go from horse shoes to public prosecutor?)

Ryu agonizes over how to come up with the money for Dae Hae's tuition. Taek Bae talks his friend into becoming the male version of what he wouldn't allow Dae Hae to become at the bar. I cry double standard!

One day Ryu is driving to go pick up some food when he passes a man walking along the side of the road. It takes forever but finally Ryu realizes the man was Stepdad. Knowing that Dae Hae is all alone at the ranch, Ryu races back. Dae Hae is indeed being chased by Stepdad. She runs into the stable to try and hide. By the time Ryu gets back and tracks the pair down in the stable, Dae Hae has already grabbed a sharp tool (I'm not sure what it is) and stabbed Stepdad in the heart.

A Hundred Year's Inheritance Episode 1

You can watch A Hundred Year's Inheritance over at Viki.

Min Chae Won (played by Eugene, which in my world is a boy's name but whatever...) is getting her makeup done and is looking over prom dress rejects. Please don't wear what you've picked out. Please don't wear what you've picked out. Please don't - aw heck, she's gonna wear it. She's attending a fancy dinner in honor of of her mother-in-law, president of Keumyoung Food.

MIL Bang Young Ja (played by Park Won Suk) presents herself as a humble businesswoman who worked hard to forge her food empire. She thanks her son Kim Chul Goo (played by Choi Won Young) and her daughter Kim Joo Ri (played by Yoon Ah Jung) for all their love and support. But when the spotlight moves over to Chae Won, MIL decides to just skip over her. Later, as the dinner is winding down, MIL takes time out to run all over poor Chae Won about her poor background and fashion sense. Like MIL has room to talk. What is up with your hair and outfit, old lady?

(I'd like to take a moment to point out that in the Real World not every mother-in-law is a witch like this. Special shout out to my late Aunt M. who was adored by her daughters-in-law.)

As Chae Won starts to remove her pink explosion of a dress, we see a bandage on her neck. Anyway, she changes clothes and makes a late night trip to see her family. Grandfather Uhm Pyung Dal (played by Shin Goo.) is busy making oodles of noodles. I will say this part is slightly interesting as I've never before seen how noodles are made, although the hanging them up outside in the open seems a bit unsanitary.

Her father is Min Hyo Dong (played by Jung Bo Suk.) He can tell something is wrong with his little girl although she pretends everything is fine. Everyone goes inside for something to eat and to infodump on the audience. Grandpa is upset because his grown kids won't help with making the oodles of noodles, the family business for generations, and money is tight. Dad Hyo Dong works on the poles. (Not sure if this is telephone or electricity or even exotic dancing.) Mom is dead.

Evil MIL decides to get back at Chae Won by planting a lipstick mark on husband Chul Goo's shirt. Thank goodness Chae Won is smart enough to notice her MIL's lipstick is the same shade as what is on the shirt. When Chae Won dares to laugh at her (like we're all doing) MIL has a major hair-pulling hissy fit. The one good thing to come out of this is Chae Won finally asks her useless husband for a divorce.

More shots of noodles. Now I want noodles.

On a plane we meet Lee Se Yoon (played by Lee Jung Jin) who is returning to Korea from America. And then we're gone. That wasn't much of an introduction, Show.

Next up are two ladies praying at the temple. One woman is Baek Sul Joo (played by Cha Hwa Yun) and she's going to bow to Buddha 3,000 times in honor of Se Yoon's birthday. The other woman is the wife of Director Uhm Ki Moon (played by Kim Myung Soo) who is the uncle of Chae Won.

Chae Won remembers back to her wedding day. Even then future MIL had a bad haircut and an even worse attitude. The woman is just too hung up on her son. She's starting to border on creepy hung up on her son. As Chae Won's flashback marriage continues, MIL just gets worse and worse. I think MIL needs some major medication. Oh, get this: MIL shows Chae Won some pictures of pretty women. When Chae Won asks who they are, MIL explains she's trying to choose her next daughter-in-law, as she doesn't expect his current marriage to last much longer. And we see how useless hubby Chul Goo caused that wound to Chae Won's neck.

Wait until they're all asleep, Chae Won, then burn the house down!

Back to the present. Chae Won goes to see Evil MIL (or EMIL) to announce she's going to divorce her husband. EMIL starts to say that instead of getting any money from the family, it is Chae Won who should be paying alimony to Chul Goo. Chae Won is prepared, though. She's got all her medical records documenting her physical abuse over the years, as well as evidence of Chul Goo's affairs during their marriage.

Chae Won goes to tell her father about what's going on but before she can get into it they're joined by Uhm Ki Ok, her aunt. Auntie just talks and talks and talks. Shut up already, woman!

We cut to a scene outside of a store where Gang Jin (played by Park Young Kyu) is singing. On the floor above the store, Ki Ok is trying to teach piano lessons to a little girl but neither can concentrate with that noise going on outside. Ki Ok goes outside to complain but Gang Jin just keeps on singing, forcing Ki Ok to cut the cord to his microphone.

Meanwhile, the plane has finally landed. Man, that was one long flight! Se Yoon has gotten his carry-on bag mixed up with another passenger's. He's greeted by his jubilant mother who clearly doesn't believe in saying no to fur. They return home where Se Yoon's dad attempts (and fails) to sing Happy Birthday to his son. Blowing out his candles causes Se Yoon to have a flashback. He's been involved in a car accident. In the passenger seat is a bloody woman. Se Yoon keeps yelling the name "Youngsun" while the EMT's do nothing helpful.

At a hotel room we join the passenger, Yang Choon Hee, who has gotten Se Yoon's bag. She also doesn't believe in saying no to fur. She's on her phone with a real estate agent discussing a place to open a cafe. She opens the bag and discovers there's been a mix up. Looks like she's got the best end of the deal, though. There's an iPad in there! And unlike her knockoff, this bag is the real deal.

We're back to Gang Jin singing inside a nice restaurant. He recognizes Ki Ok who is here on a blind date. After his singing gig is done, Jin takes his revenge by ruining her date and scaring the guy off.

Lastly, we're introduced to Uhm Ki Choon (played by Kwon Oh Joong.) He's sneaking around in the restaurant where his wife (whom he's separated from) works and attempts to make off with some money. She catches him and hits him upside the head with a ham hock.

Finally we get back to Chae Won. She's packing her bags and starting to leave the House of Hell when EMIL drives up and jumps out of the car. She's near hysterics as she tells Chae Won that Chul Goo has been in a terrible accident. Chae Won, suddenly made stupid by the writer(s), gets in the car with EMIL to go to the distant hospital where her husband supposedly is. While Chae Won isn't looking, EMIL quietly takes her cell phone out of her purse.

When they stop at the hospital, Chae Won goes dashing in, never noticing the sign saying it is a MENTAL hospital. She follows two orderlies, thinking they're taking her to her husband. It's not until after she finds herself locked in the room (with bars on the windows!) that Chae Won begins to realize she's been tricked.

You can't swing a cat without hitting a veteran actor in this drama. I'm hoping it was the script and not just the paycheck that attracted all this talent to the project. Not much really happened in this episode as we were given an introduction to the immense cast. It wasn't until the very end when the story went totally makjang that there was an event. I may have to check out the next episode to see where this goes.

Or I may not.

Deception Episode 1

It's that time of year again here in the States. Time when the Big Three Networks (plus FOX) try to replace their failed TV programs from the fall season with a new batch of soon-to-fail TV programs. First up is Deception, NBC's answer to ABC's Revenge.

Heiress Vivian Bowers is walking alone at night down a deserted New York City street. Because that's what heiresses do, dontcha know. A menacing form separates from the shadows and starts to follow her. Only now realizing this wasn't such a good idea on her part, Vivian starts to hustle for her sportscar, jumping inside and quickly locking the door. The Mystery Person throws themself up against the car. Vivian cracks the window a bit and scolds the Mystery Person for scaring her. Now hop in and let's go!

When next we see Vivian she's on the floor of a hotel room. Her dead eyes stare up at nothing, her face bruised. The unsuspecting maid coming in is about to discover her worst cleaning nightmare come true.

Robert Bowers is in the middle of a business meeting at his pharmaceutical company when he is given the news about his daughter Vivian's death. With tears in his eyes, he calls second wife Sophia. She in turn calls step-son Julian to rouse him out of bed with a half naked woman. She orders Julian to go to youngest sister Mia's school and tell her the news while eldest brother Edward goes down to the morgue to make an official ID of the body.

I am in Character Introduction Overload at this point and I'm barely five minutes into the show.

Meanwhile in San Francisco, police detective Joanna Locasto is surprised to have a visit from Will Moreno, her former partner who is now with the FBI. It is Will who breaks it to Joanna about her former BFF's tragic demise. The official cause of death being released is Vivian died of an overdose, but Will suspects foul play.

The uber-rich Bowers clan has been on the FBI radar for years because of their shady business dealings. Just recently the family has been fighting over billions of dollars. Brother Edward had been trying to get Vivian taken out of the will. Oh yeah, and fifteen years ago one of Edward's lovers was found raped and strangled and left in a ditch, yet he had all charges against him dropped.

Will knows Joanna was close with the family. (Her mother - who now has Alzheimer's - used to work for the Bowers.) He wants Joanna to get back in with the group and dig up the truth.

Wearing a wire so Will can listen in, Joanna attends the memorial service at the Bowers' home. The first member of the family to recognize her is Julian, and so he should. Flashbacks tells us how teen Joanna and teen Julian liked to swap slobbers. As per her cover story, Joanna tells how she's just gotten out of an abusive relationship and is wanting a fresh start. Robert invites her to stay for dinner.

It's not a comfortable family gathering. Some nervous woman I'm assuming is Edward's wife or ex-wife is eager to get away from him and his touch. Step mom Sofia is a textbook bitch. Robert impulsively asks Joanna to live at their mansion while she looks for work in NYC. Edward and Julian exchange barbs and we learn Julian likes to do cocaine. For the second time someone in the show mentions TMZ. Are they a sponsor of this program?

Later that evening, as Joanna is asleep in the room she was given, she hears raised voices from outside and goes to investigate. She sees Edward and Nervous Woman are arguing, with Nervous Woman wondering why Vivian had tried to contact her the night she died.

The next day Joanna snoops around the house. She remembers where teen Vivian used to hide her weed and goes to check out the hole in the wall. She finds a flash drive stashed inside.

As the show goes on, Joanna first butts heads with people like Mia and Sofia. People who then turn right around and divulge intimate family secrets to this interloper they don't want in the house in the first place.

Finally alone, Joanna checks to see what's on the flash drive. It's a video of Vivian and an unknown man having sex. Afterwards they converse and we learn Vivian was in love and was pregnant.

Outside on the grounds, Joanna spies what she believes is a sleazy paparazzi sneaking around. She gives chase and a tussle ensues which causes her shirt to be ripped, exposing the wire she's wearing. Seeing the wire the man, Remy Colville, correctly assumes Joanna is a cop.

For the third time - the THIRD time - TMZ is mentioned.

Remy claims he was working for Vivian who suspected her pharmaceutical family was about to introduce a dangerous drug to the market and she was going to blow the whistle. He suggests he and Joanna now work together to solve the murder.

Robert offers Joanna a job.

Joanna receives a call from Remy. He claims he has some new information and for her to come meet him at a parking lot next to a river. Yet when Joanna gets there she finds his car flipped over down the bank and his dead body floating in the water.

Worried for her safety, Will takes her back to his apartment where they start to get hot and heavy. Yeah, finding a dead body will always do that to ya.

Joanna learns Mia is actually Vivian's daughter.

I felt that too much was thrown at me at once. Plot twists that should have been stretched out over the run were instead all crammed into the first episode. The acting wasn't that great but it wasn't that terrible. The writing, however, was subpar.

Three Kingdoms Episode 36

Still no sign of Ruby Lin.

That old hack, Cai Mao, shuffles his way right over to pay his respects to Cao Cao. The Prime Minister showers him with rewards. Xun Yu, who is looking a lot more grayer since last we saw him, points out what I just said (Cai Mao is an old hack) and shouldn't be put in charge of the navy. Cao Cao is worried about Zhou Yu's powerful navy, and hack or not, Cai Mao has naval experience. (He does? When? When was that even mentioned?)

Next up for an audience is Liu Cong, the useless son who turned the province over to Cao Cao. The Prime Minister asks about the resources Jing Province has. Liu Cong proudly lists all the supplies, men and money they have. Cao Cao yells, "If you had all that, why did you surrender without a fight?! Huh?" Liu Cong just stands there like a deer caught in the headlights (once headlights are invented.)

Cao Cao now decides to send Liu Cong to Xuchang so he can shack up with that other useless fellow, the Han Emperor. Liu Cong whines about how Cao Cao had promised the young man could remain the Inspector of Jing Province. Cao Cao explains he'll still get to keep the title, just do his job from afar in Xuchang. He's altering the deal, boy. Pray he doesn't alter it any further.

Our next guest is Cao Ren, come to report more about that battle we didn't get to see from the last episode. Liu Bei and his men, as well as all the townspeople, are retreating to Jiangxia. Cao Cao plans to race there and take care of that pesky Liu Bei once and for all. (Yeah, we've heard that before.)

As Moses watches the Jews leave Egypt  As Liu Bei watches the refugees flee Xinye, he agonizes over their slow progress with Cao Cao hot on their heels. Zhuge Liang once again tries to suggest the army leave the civilians behind. Liu Bei once again responds with No Way. So instead Zhuge Liang orders Guan Yu to take his ultra fast horse, Red Hare (which I totally forgot he had), and go on to Jiangxia to get Liu Qi to send his army to meet them halfway.

Zhao Yun is going against the flow of fleeing civilians when his Spidey senses start to tingle. A group of these refugees are mighty suspicious. He orders them to halt. The men pull out hidden weapons and attack. Alright, an action scene! Of course, Zhao Yun being Zhao Yun, he easily slaughters the group without breaking a sweat.

He had come back to check on Liu Bei's wives. I see at least one of them running around in the dust, calling out for Zhao Yun. Just then some of Cao Cao's  cavalry reach her and are about to cut her down. Here comes Zhao Yun to the rescue. You have to see this to believe it. He grabs the bridle of the enemy's horse and flips man and beast head over hooves. Seriously! One handed. He just flips them right over.

He reaches the dusty wife. She's either Lady Can or Lady Gan. Anyway, she's okay, but the other wife, Lady Mi, and Liu Bei's infant son were separated from the group during the chaos. There's no time to search for them as more of the enemy are riding up. Zhao Yun must hold them off alone, which for a man who just flipped a horse, that shouldn't be any problem.

One of the enemy, Xiahou En, is wielding the Blue Blade sword, a match for a horse flipping man. Too bad he doesn't know what he's doing. Zhao Yun easily takes the sword away and swears to use it one day to decapitate Cao Cao. Zhao Yun goes on to kick ass and look for the other missing wife. He finds her (and I use the term "her" very loosely. Still looks like a man in drag) in a burning village. Fearing she'll only slow them down, she wants Zhao Yun to take the baby and flee on his horse. He doesn't want to leave her behind.

Suddenly the enemy attack. He runs forward and... oh no, he just cut off that horse's leg! And he did another one! Zhao, sometimes I like you, sometimes you're a poster boy for PETA.  While he takes on the mob, getting injured during the melee, he yells for Lady Mi to get on the horse. Get on the damn horse, woman! Er, man. Er, whatever. But does she? Nooooo.

Instead she lays the baby on the ground and throws herself down a well.

What. The. Hell.

Zhao Yun continues fighting until everyone is dead. He ties the baby to his chest and starts to ride back. The only thing between him and Liu Bei is, well, Cao Cao's army. Zhao Yun (and his heroic horse that deserves some credit) boldly leap into the middle of the enemy and start slashing, thrashing, and hitting. Don't forget, this is all with a baby tied to his chest. It's Lone Wolf and Cub, Chinese style.

Cao Cao, enjoying his mid-morning snack, is watching all this from afar and wonders who this lone warrior is. Impressed with Zhao Yun's bravery, Cao Cao orders him taken alive. Oh no, the valiant horse is down! Zhao Yun and baby are having to fight on foot. Oh dear, I think I'm hearing cartoon sound effects. Yep, I'm hearing cartoon sound effects. Bad Show. Bad.

Seeing that his men are being wiped out because they're trying to take Zhao Yun alive, Cao Cao goes ahead and rescinds his order. It happens to quickly I'm not 100% sure but I believe the baby receives a blow to the head. Zhao Yun and the baby are tossed way up in the air, the soldiers below getting their spears ready for the return.

But wait! Valiant Horse is back up! Hell ya! The horse shoulders its way through the enemy and catches Zhao Yun before he hits the ground. Horse, Hero, and child make their escape. They reach a bridge where Zhang Fei and his men are waiting. (Zhang Fei says he saw everything. So why didn't you go over there and help him, Loud Mouth?!?) Zhang Fei stays behind to hold the army off.

An exhausted and bloody Zhao Yun kneels before Liu Bei and returns his infant son. Liu Bei takes the bundle of joy and... THROWS THE BABY TO THE GROUND!

What. The. Hell.

Liu Bei fusses at Zhao Yun for putting himself in so much danger and going to all that trouble just for a baby.

What. The. Hell.

Cao Cao, remembering Guan Yu told him about Zhang Fei, orders his men to retreat from the bridge. Liu Bei's people make it to the rendezvous point where they were expecting Liu Qi's troops, but no one is there. Looks like it's a good day to die. Liu Bei rallies his remaining men to fight to the very end.

Hark! Here come the CGI ships of Liu Qi coming down the CGI river. Liu Bei will live to not fight another day.

Show, I was all set to forgive you for not showing a battle scene during Episode 35. But then you go and throw the baby on the ground! That one moment simply ruined everything.
