Chunchu puts Princess Deokman on the back of his horse and they ride away from the impromptu battle only to be set upon by archers. Chabi (of the Gwimun) warns them it looks like they are surrounded. She puts on Deokman's armor and valiantly rides out to distract the enemy so the real princess can get away.
A carrier pigeon delivers the grim news to King Jinpyeong. He's wanting to personally lead more troops to their rescue but Queen Seungman reminds him that would be an open invitation for Goguryeo to attack the capital.
Somewhere Deokman and her generals are reunited. The Silla army has lost quite a bit of horses and supplies because of the battle. Some of the generals want to high tail it back to town. Chunchu wants to find out what went wrong and why the Baekje betrayed them. Just then they receive the official order from the king to return. Deokman, a steely look in her eye, refuses to retreat.
Back at the Baekje palace, King Mu gives to his son the decoded secret message from Seungman. The queen promised that if the Baekje broke the alliance, they could have the valuable trading city of D-ville as well as some other land.
That night as the Baekje celebrate their victory, Yushin's bug-eyed brother and some men set fire to a pile of hay in the camp while Chunchu and Yushin cause the horses to stampede. With all this confusion, Chunchu is able to infiltrate the tent of the Baekje general and give the man a message to pass on to King Mu: repent or face the consequences.
Hearing that his daughter still intends to attack Goguryeo, King Jinpyeong is as anxious as ever to send her reinforcements. Seungman commands her puppet, the Prime Minister, to nip this idea in the bud.
Deokman's army learn the Goguryeo forces are just up the road. The princess is taken to a nearby Silla fortress for her protection only to find they won't open the gates for her. Deokman knows the queen is behind this order. As they're still outside the gates, Kim Yushin rides up to warn them that they were defeated in a battle offscreen and Goguryeo is marching this way. Time to hit the trail.
With half the court out with the "blue flu", Jinpyeong can't get the go-ahead to send reinforcements.
What's left of the Silla army set up camp for the night. We learn other Silla fortresses also won't open their gates to Deokman and her people. Her generals advise her to return to the capital at least to gather more men and materiel while the rest of them stay here. Bihyeong offers to sneak her by boat back to the city.
King Mu charges Prince Uija to go to Goguryeo and work out an alliance with them.
Beopmin and Manhwa are doing their homework when the king drops by. Beopmin begs Jinpyeong to send reinforcements. This pisses Manhwa off.
Its a slow trip up the river (or are they going down?) so Deokman and Bihyeong get to know one another. Don't be getting any heart flutterings, Deokman. Bihyeong belongs to Bohui.
Deokman returns to the palace. Seungman appears to now be wearing pretzels in her wig. Deokman asks for more men as she's eager to return to the fight. The king has to refuse her. The princess goes on a hunger strike. She posts herself outside the king's quarters and loudly cries for him to send reinforcements. After she grows weak and faints, the king breaks down and agrees to at least send more food rations. Yet as the sacks of food are being loaded on the wagons it is discovered that chaff and sand have been mixed in with the rice. The honest man who found this out is murdered before he can report to the king.
Prince Uija arrives at the Goguryeo fortress of Nangbiseong. Watching from the sidelines are Chunchu, Yushin, and Nanseung.
As the wagons of (literally) dirty rice are making their way down the road, Myorang and her grass ninjas attack. By the time Chunchu and his group arrive, all the wagonmen are dead and the bags of food are burning.
This calls for a new plan. Alone, Chunchu sneaks into Nangbiseong and into where Prince Uija is being housed. Its a Mexican standoff in Korea as Chunchu holds his sword at Uija's throat while Sweet Abs has his sword at Chunchu's neck.
