A Hundred Year's Inheritance (Abridged) Episode 17

After the peak WTF-ery of Episode 16, I fully understand this current episode won't be as over the top.

Se Yoon puts the nearly unconscious Chae Won into his car and drives off, leaving the crippled (and crazy) Chul Goo behind. EMIL has to send someone else to pick up her Pwecious Baby.

As she's getting patched up at a rather rinky dink hospital, Chae Won learns Se Yoon knows the truth about her being divorced and all. She starts going down the "Woe Is Me" path while Se Yoon tries to cheer her up.

With the miracle treatment of a simple bandaid on his head, Chul Goo is able to walk again. EMIL welcomes him home by bitching at him wasting his time trying to get back together with his ex-wife. She mentions how she saw Se Yoon at the noodle house and speculates Chae Won has already moved on to another relationship, so Chul Goo should do the same. Chul Goo can't stand the thought of his ex with another man.

(There's a great big teddy bear in Chul Goo's bed. What grown man has a great big teddy bear in his bedroom?!?)

Se Yoon drives Chae Won back to the noodle house. (She's pleased to see he has his Almighty (Not) Hello Kitty keyring hanging from the rearview mirror.) Just as they're getting out of the car, Chae Won's dad comes out and meets them. Dad asks about the injury to his daughter's face and she fibs she hurt herself moving a box at work. Se Yoon goes along with her story.

Se Yoon is barely inside his own home and already Joo Ri is calling him. Miss Nosey wants to know where he's been all day. He only tells her he was helping a friend. Miss Nosey wants to know who his friend is. He tells her no one she knows. Miss Nosey needs to be told its nunya biznez.

Chul Goo is back to drinking again. Oh, and the creepy background music is back! He's fixated on Se Yoon. Se Yoon, buddy, you'd better be getting you a bodyguard.

Since Chae Won left work early (because she was kidnapped) and didn't come in for her next shift (because she was kidnapped), she's lost her part-time job at the market.

The matchmaker EMIL hired has scored a plum gig for Chul Goo. A blind date with a daughter of a powerful and rich clan. EMIL is already planning the wedding. First she just has to get her son to agree to go on the blind date.

Se Yoon's clingy mother gets a call from an orphanage. The director has been ill and very much wants to meet with Clingy Mom. Clingy Mom is quite shaken and worries about why the director of the orphanage wants to see her.

After a business meeting with his crew, Se Yoon offers to treat them all to lunch down in the cafeteria. You big spender, you. While down there he learns the cafeteria has a position open. He immediately thinks of Chae Won. Since he already has her resume in his possession, he takes it upon himself (with no permission from her) to turn it over to the HR department. Joo Ri almost discovers Chae Won's paperwork but thankfully she's interrupted before she learns who her rival for Se Yoon's attention is.

After pounding the pavement all day looking for work, Chae Won doesn't even make it through her front gate before Chul Goo shows up. Is he here to apologize? Don't be silly. He just has to know what her relationship with Se Yoon is. Chae Won (at last!) replies she doesn't have to tell him anything. Its none of Chul Goo's business what her relationship is with Se Yoon. I fear this just fuels Chul Goo's insanity. Get a bodyguard, Se Yoon!

Later that evening at the office, Joo Ri again tries to learn who it is Se Yoon is trying to get a job for.

Se Yoon stops by the noodle house to tell Chae Won about the job opening at his work. While they're standing out in the open talking, neither one notice the car drive up right next to them, because DramaKoreans have no peripheral vision. In the car is Joo Ri, and she's not happy to see her potential victim talking to her ex-sister-in-law.
