The King's Dream Episode 20

Chunchu orders Seungman to return to the temple where she's supposed to be confined. Seungman dares to taunt him. "What if I don't? What are you gonna do? Huh? Huh?" Chunchu orders his Hwarang to arrest the queen for treason. She stops everyone by finally explaining that it was the king himself who sent for her to come meet him. She's even got the paperwork to prove it, so step aside little man.

At the royal shrine, Seungman greets her husband with all the fall foliage in her hair. She tries to force Jinpyeong to stamp his approval on the order to reinstate her as queen. The king refuses so Seungman brings out some mind-controlling drugs and forces them down her husband's throat. (If you hear laughter that's mine. Some of the faces these people make are hilarious.)

Bihyeong and his people look on.

Chunchu races to tell New Deokman what's going on. They're both surprised when the king calls for a late night court meeting. Seungman walks in like she owns the place because, well, she does. The Old Farts are shocked to see the official seal on the orders to restore the queen and make her the ruler. New Deokman announces she won't believe anything until she hear's it from her father's lips herself.

They go to see the Zombie King. He mumbles his rehearsed lines that he is too ill to look after national affairs and so hands over the reigns of power to the queen. Afterwards, Chunchu and New Deokman confer. He confides in the princess that he believes the king has been drugged but they need to get definite proof of this.

Bihyeong looks on. Don't you have any lines in this episode, Bihyeong?

Bug Eyes reports to Chunchu that the queen's private army has moved into the palace.

Seungman removes the Prime Minister (Yushin's grandfather) and Alcheon from their positions and replaces them with her own men.

Meanwhile at the border, Yushin's father, Kim Seo Hyun, has taken to drink because of his guilt over the Gwimun massacre. Seo Hyun asks his son to always remember the mistake his father made and to never kill innocent people himself. Foreshadowing! Bug Eyes then arrives to tell them what a mess the capital is in so they'd better get back there to straighten things out. But Yushin won't leave his post. With the country in turmoil, the borders must be guarded even more diligently from outside enemies.

Seungman presents her list of traitors who need to be executed. Bihyeong (yes, looking on) sees the names of Chunchu and Yongchun are on the list. Nanseung and Chabi confront Bihyeong about working with the queen. This at least gives Bihyeong his first line in the show. He cut ties with his half-brother's family after the massacre so yes, he has no problems with his orders.

Chunchu fears for New Deokman's life, especially when he hears the queen specifically sent the princess to go care for Zombie King at the royal shrine. We now go live to New Deokman's procession as they're being stopped by Chilsuk and his soldiers. He orders the princess to be executed. Her men rush forward to protect her while... she just sits there! Run, girlfriend, run! Well, at least someone else is listening to me as one of her guards, Horim, makes her get on his horse and they ride away.

They don't get far before being confronted by Bihyeong. Horim is injured and Bihyeong jabs his deadly fan into the princess' face. She calmly asks for one thing before she dies: that he stop being the queen's lapdog. Bihyeong just stands there for a moment, allowing Myorang (still wearing feathers!) to come riding up. Bihyeong quickly grabs the loyal guard and the princess and puts them back on the horse, sending them on their way just as Chunchu and his men are starting to arrive on the scene.

Seungman's men start out to kill Yushin's grandfather and Alcheon. The Old Farts manage to get away (thanks to a punch in the face from old Alcheon!) and shuffle off to Buffalo. They're almost caught at the gate when Kim Seo Hyun and his boys arrive just in time to save them. A mass of extras converge for a fight scene.

Bihyeong explains himself to Seungman by pointing out how beloved and respected New Deokman is by the people. Killing her would turn the population against the queen.

Chunchu wonders why the queen hasn't gone ahead and installed her son as the crown prince. She must be up to something bigger and badder, but what?

Poor Zombie King is badgered by the ghost of the Old Hag, Queen Sado. She tries to convince him to abdicate the throne in favor of his son for the good of all.

Bihyeong looks on.

Yushin begins to question why he hasn't had much of a part in the show lately.

Zombie King mumbles his decision to the royal court his plans to abdicate in favor of Manhwa with the queen acting as regent until the boy is of age.

Seungman and New Deokman have a tense meeting. They have a civilized cat fight, with words instead of claws. But wouldn't it be awesome if sometime in the future these two actually had a knock down drag out cat fight? Well, I think it would be awesome. New Deokman refuses to surrender to the queen nor to recognize the abdication of the king. She vows to fight on.

In the crowd, Prince Uija of Baekje and Sweet Abs look on. Lots of looking on in this episode.

After taking out her failure on Bihyeong, Seungman learns Chunchu has left for Gohoseung, probably to bring back Yushin. She orders Bihyeong to go and either change Chunchu's mind or bring his head back to the queen.

Bohui is taking care of Yeonhwa when a pair of ninjas storm in to take her prisoner. Sino gets there just in time to give them the smackdown. However the rest of Chunchu's family are taken into ninja custody. The women make a distraction so young Beopmin can get away.

Far away at the border, Chunchu tries to talk Yushin into coming back to the capital. Yushin is having a crisis of faith. Why should he support the king after what happened to the Gwimun? They're surprised when Bihyeong comes to join them. He suggests Chunchu take the throne and throw the current royal family out. Chunchu now sees Bihyeong as nothing but the queen's puppet. He draws his sword. Bihyeong draws his sword. Poor Yushin is literally caught in the middle.
