May Queen Episode 32

Chang Hee is about to leave his office and dash off to the airport when he's stopped by Do Hyun. The old man insists Chang Hee go somewhere with him. (Ahh, don't go out in woods with him, Chang Hee!)

 

Kang San wakes up and finds the doors locked to the warehouse he's trapped in. Luckily everything he needs to make a small bomb is also locked inside with him and Kang San gets his MacGyver on (with accompanying MacGyver music) and blows the doors open. He even calls himself "KangGyver." Five minutes in and I've already got my best scene ever for this episode. San recovers his cell phone in time to receive a text message from Chang Hee urging him to get to the airport and save Hae Joo.

 

At the airport Hae Joo makes a break for it, only to be chased by Nameless Minion/Secretary Choi and his army of minions. (Once again airport security seems to be on a lunch break. You've got a screaming woman running through the airport with suited men chasing after her and no one does anything!!) She manages to lose them in the crowded parking lot but they continue to hunt for her. She gets one quick message off to San about her location. Night falls and lunch break is over. Spying a couple of rare airport security officers, Hae Joo tries to make a run for it, only to be surrounded by the goons. She makes a valiant effort but in the end Nameless Minion beats the crap out of her. Somebody needs to put you in a nail cage!

 

Oh thank God, KangGyver has arrived! He takes out a couple of extras single-handedly. Now it's just him and Nameless Minion. Zap! Poww!  Kaching!  In the midst of the mano-a-mano, Nameless loses his cell phone. Hae Joo bites and headbutts her two captors to free herself. San thinks to grab the cell phone and then grab Hae Joo. And what's this on the horizon? Is it the cavalry? It's airport security! 'Bout fuckin' time, guys.

 

Best thirteen minutes ever.

 

Nameless Minion reports his failure back to Do Hyun. Now that Hae Joo has seen Choi's face, Do Hyun orders Nameless Minion to take off and lay low for awhile. I swear it looks like Nameless Minion is about to cry over being separated from his Do Hyun. Ummmm, I'm getting all sorts of weird ideas now about Choi's loyalty to Do Hyun. Ummmm.....

 

San and Hae Joo go straight to Jeong Woo to report what happened. San quickly figures out Do Hyun must know Hae Joo is really Yoo Jin. Hae Joo worries this means Geum Hee is in danger. San hands Choi's cell phone over to Jeong Woo. A quick test shows that this is the phone that sent Hae Joo the picture of the bloody license plate. They tell Geum Hee about what happened. Hae Joo wants her mother to move out of the house but Geum Hee thinks she can still handle herself. 

 

In Hwa is desperate to get her some. Chang Hee is desperate not to give her any.

 

As they're standing outside Jeong Woo's house, KangGyver finally makes his move. As the music swells, San slowly, slowly, slowly moves in on Hae Joo when here comes Sang Tae taking out the garbage and asking what they're doing. The music screeches to a halt. Team San is cock blocked! Worst scene ever!

 

Il Mun comes to the big house to accuse Geum Hee of freezing his bank accounts. He reveals that Hae Joo is Yoo Jin and that he's the one who faked the test, so ha. Geum Hee has to act like this is all news to her and she whips him with thorny roses, so ha back atcha. To round out the scene she falls to the floor again. It's her signature move.

 

Do Hyun is over at Gi Cheol's house giving him down the road for drinking too much when Geum Hee walks in (without knocking, naturally) and bitch slaps her husband. Well, not really bitch slap as limp wrist slap. She yells at him that Il Mun just told her everything - which, he did, the big mouth. Do Hyun tries to say Il Mun is lying. Geum Hee drags Gi Cheol into this by asking him why he lied to her about her daughter's death. The gimp just stutters. Geum Hee goes back to the big house to pack sloppily and leave. Do Hyun bitch slaps Gi Cheol (and he does it right. After all, he's had plenty of practice) and orders the gimp to do whatever it takes to get Geum Hee back home or else its the hole for him.

 

Chang Hee bribes Secretary Kim (San's assistant) to steal the drill blueprints.

 

Hae Joo is worried Chang Hee might be in danger for warning them. Kang San is worried because Hae Joo is worried about Chang Hee. He reminds her of all the bad things Evil Chang Hee has done and tells Hae Joo to never worry over Chang Hee again.

 

Geum Hee agrees to meet with Gi Cheol. He tries to pass off that old excuse of Chun Hong Chul rescuing baby Yoo Jin from the sea and how he and Do Hyun truly though the baby was dead. Geum Hee calmly and cooly pokes holes in his story and makes a dignified exit. Go, Geum Hee, go!

 

Jeong Woo finally gets back in touch with Kim Jong Buk, Do Hyun's old associate that met with Grandpa Dae Pyung. Jeong Woo then goes out and gets shitfaced with Bong Hee. Finally, after 32 episodes, he works up the courage to confess he has feelings for her. Too bad Bong Hee is passed out by now.

 

Geum Hee comes to Casa Jeong Woo to have a sleepover with Hae Joo.

 

Oh no! Oh God, no! No, no, no!

 

Mario is back.

 

No matter how brief a scene it is, its still so painful. San is trying to get the industrial diamonds from Noble instead of with Cheonji. Now go away, Mario, and never, ever come back.

 

Chang Hee overhears Do Hyun beating and berating Gi Cheol. Later, when dad limps home, Chang Hee demands to know the truth about what power Do Hyun holds over Gi Cheol. Gi Cheol reveals the whole sordid plot about Hae Joo/Yoo Jin. Question is, what will Chang Hee do with this knowledge?

 

Jeong Woo's minion (what's his name again? There are so many minions on this show I can't keep any of them straight) has discovered where Nameless Minion is hiding out. They surround the non-descript apartment building. Choi comes out and is chased by Jeong Woo and half the police department. Nameless Minion knocks down several men (doesn't anybody in Korea own a taser?!?) but in the end it's old man Jeong Woo who has the moves to put Choi in a choke hold and formally arrest him.

 

Over at San's factory, Hae Joo is surprised (as we all are) to have Gi Cheol drop by to see her. He falls to his knees to beg forgiveness for what he's done to her and confesses he's the one who killed Hong Chul. Wow, didn't see that one coming.
