Three Kingdoms Episode 26

*Sigh* It's lonely here in I-Don't-Like-Lee-Min-Ho's-Drama-Faith Land.

Meanwhile, in a show that's actually good, although where the hell is Ruby Lin?!?...

When Guan Yu reveals his identity to the bandit king, Zhou Cang drops to his knees and begs to be accepted as a follower of the general. Longbeard can't make any decisions on his own and goes to ask his sisters-in-law what they think. The sisters speak! (Sort of. Almost. Not.) At first they don't want to Zhou Cang because of his army of bandits. He swears to disband his thieves and burn his hideout down. This is good enough for the women, so Zhou Cang gets to join our little band.

They approach a city Zhou Cang identifies as Gucheng. He had once wanted to occupy this city but a bigger, fiercer bandit rode in and took over instead. Ah, so this is where Zhang Fei has been terrorizing the locals. When Loudmouth hears his brother is at the gates, he dashes out with a spear. (Zhou Cang has the best line of the show: "Get your ass out here now!")

Guan Yu demands to know why Zhang Fei is trying to kill him. Loudmouth confronts his brother with the fact Longbeard had submitted to Cao Cao. Guan Yu can't deny any of this but proclaims he did it just to protect their sisters-in-law. Just then an army rides up to the gate. Guan Yu asks to prove his loyalty to his brothers by killing the enemy general. The fight takes only a minute. The general (and his horse!) are dead and the army runs off. Guan Yu and Zhang Fei make up.

Yuan Shao sends Liu Bei to go fetch his brothers. Xu You worries once Liu Bei leaves the city he'll never come back.  He stops Liu Bei as the other is leaving and asks directly what his plans are. Liu Bei admits he's come to realize Yuan Shao is never going to accomplish much of anything, so yes, he's going to leave and raise an army of his own to battle with Cao Cao. Xu You respects his decision and advises Liu Bei to join up with Liu Biao.

As Guan Yu and Zhang Fei ride to reunite with their brother, they run into that other brother, Zhao Yun. He's been holed up with old man Guan Ding and raising an army. The old man welcomes them to his abode and asks Guan Yu to take his son, Guan Ping, and make a man out of him. Zhao "I've Got Some Lines In This Episode!" Yun goes one further and recommends Guan Yu, who has no sons of his own, adopt Guan Ping as his heir. Remember, Guan Yu doesn't like to make decisions on his own. He wants to wait and ask Liu Bei what he thinks, but the other two brothers convince Longbeard to just go ahead and adopt the fellow.

The brothers are all reunited and they cry like babies. Off screen I guess Liu Bei is also reunited with his wives. He probably cried like a baby then. I'd cry too if I had two unattractive wives.

There is a very brief scene that has nothing to do with anything. Sun Ce had requested a promotion from the Han emperor and was turned down. Sun Ce ain't happy. And that's it. That's all that is shown of him. Why was this even in here?

Yuan Shao just now realizes Liu Bei is not coming back. He wants to send his cavalry out and capture Liu Bei, but Xu You is able to talk his master into concentrating all his efforts at Cao Cao. Yuan Shao mobilizes his army.
