I'm quite depressed. The ugly spectre of mandatory overtime has once again raised its vile head. Let's see if Office Girls can cheer me up. Oh, and DON'T buy Hanes T-shirts ever, ever, ever. The first wash and already the hem is unraveling. Damn you, cheap Hanes T-shirts!
Qin Zi Qi wakes up in Shen Xing Ren's apartment to find she's left him some breakfast. Just as he's about to dig in, Moma Shen suddenly drops in for a visit. She asks him if he knew about Xing Ren's potential trip to France and how he feels about it. She also gives him that old speech of the doomed, "If anything happens to me, please take care of my daughter."
When Xing Ren comes home from work, Moma Shen gives her a bank book. Over the years Moma Shen has managed to save up five million dollars ($170,000 in US - still nothing to sneeze at in my little world) so if Xing Ren was going to go to Paris simply for the money, she doesn't have to worry about it anymore. Moma Shen asks Zi Qi if his friend Paul still has that house up for sale.
The next day Paul shows them around the home. Moma is eager to sign the contract right now, but Xing Ren stops her. She doesn't feel right using her mother's money. Moma suggests she could make the down payment on the house a wedding present. Zi Qi looks eager while Xing Ren looks prickly.
Wei Mi Na pressures Xing Ren for a decision. Not next week, not tomorrow - now. They do manage a compromise. Mi Na offers to take Xing Ren to the New York Fashion Week and see how everything goes.
Xing Ren and Moma Shen have a talk about Zi Qi (who is eavesdropping) and Xing Ren admits she's not sure if he's really serious about a relationship.
Shi Te Long doesn't want to give Xing Ren her two weeks' vacation time, which she'll use for the trip to New York, claiming it's almost the busy Christmas sale time. He can't afford to have her gone at this most critical time. However, if she were to help fix him up with Le Le, he would be oh so helpful then.
Zi Qi steps in and reminds Te Long he is abusing his authority and workers in order to get girls. Not only does Te Long not deny doing this, he revels in it. He proudly proclaims he'll abuse his authority as long as he can, while he can. Zi Qi then reveals he recorded their conversation on his cell phone and threatens to play it for the higher-ups. Te Long relents on giving Xing Ren her vacation. Xing Ren is confused. One moment Zi Qi is telling her not to go, the next moment he's helping her out so she can go.
We get basically a music video next. Nothing much happens as Xing Ren and Zi Qi think and think.
It's the end of the month and Zi Qi is pretty low on funds. He still asks Xing Ren out for dinner - of rice balls and V8 juice. He reminisces about their adventures from the past thirteen episodes. He tells her to go to France and not to worry about him. He can do his own laundry and cook his own spaghetti. Just remember, he'll be waiting here for her. Zi Qi then presents her with a bouquet... of broccoli (remember, he's broke) and a fake scratch off lottery ticket. Xing Ren scratches it off to find she's won first prize = Qin Zi Qi. He moves in slowly, slowly, slowly... Damnit, just kiss the girl already! I ain't got all night.
The next morning our couple waltzes into work holding hands. The moment is ruined, of course, by the return of that Zheng Kai Er. I could so do without her. Xing Ren leaves first so they can talk. Kai Er seems to have gotten over her broken heart rather quickly. She's more interested in finding out if Director Qin has taken a look at her USB drive she had Zi Qi give to him. Zi Qi says he'll find out.
Director Qin calls in his old friend, HR VP Feng Ren Yue to look at the contents of Kai Er's flash drive. Ren Yue appears shocked at what she sees. Qin tells her to keep the flash drive in a safe place and tell no one (including the audience) what she's seen.
