The Great Seer Episode 7

The good news is despite Hurricane Sandy, the DramaFever gang was still able to sub and post the latest episode. More power to them. Seriously, more power to them, as well as more water and food. Also, there was a lot more going on in this episode compared to the last one, so no zombies were required.

Ji Sang proves his worth to Jong Dae by showing off his flim flam finesse of fortune telling. Its not so much supernatural powers as powers of observation. He's like the Goryeo Sherlock Holmes. So the shady Jong Dae takes the orphan boy into his home and helps polish up Ji Sang's scamming skills.

General Lee Sung Gye continues to try to find out just what Ja Mi Won is and why everyone is looking for "it". This is brought to the attention of both high priestess Soo Ryun Gae as well as King Kongmin. The king has Sung Gye investigated for possible treason.

When Young Ji learns about this, she takes it upon herself to go see the general and find out what he knows. From him Young Ji learns Ryun Gae was telling the truth about Dong Yoon being dead. However, Sung Gye says the dead man's son got away, which counters Ryun Gae's claim that Ji Sang was dead as well.

Young Ji returns to Seowon to find Queen Noguk has come for a visit. The queen says she's been feeling rather odd lately and asks Young Ji to investigate to see who may be trying to prevent Noguk from getting pregnant. In secrecy, Young Ji (with a small bird) goes to spend the night in the queen's chamber while Noguk stays elsewhere. In the morning, feeling the strange effects herself, Young Ji wakes to find the canary in a coalmine is dead, he's ceased to be, he's expired and gone to meet his maker. Suspecting the high priestess, Young Ji has her men secretly keep a watch on Ryun Gae and her household.

Ryun Gae, meanwhile, doesn't have a clue and asks about the drugs they've been putting on the queen's coals. Amazon replies they're almost out of the main ingredient. She'll have to go get some more from Jong Dae.

Speaking of Jong Dae, he's got a funny feeling in his ass. I Kid You Not. He really does say this, that when his ass crack feels this way, there's going to be trouble. He insists on leaving the house by himself to take care of business. Suspicious, Ji Sang follows him. Amazon, who seems to have no Amazon warrior mastery of knowing when she's being shadowed, goes to the drop-off place in the market. Jong Dae, acting like he's shopping, puts down the box of secret ingredients so he can look at some material. Ji Sang sees this. He also sees that the Amazon has several tails. (So this kind of means Ji Sang is a better Amazon than Amazon is.) Jong Dae walks away, leaving the box behind. Before Amazon can casually pick up the box, Ji Sang runs out and grabs it instead, whispering to the Amazon she's being followed. Before either one can make a clean getaway, the men step forward and take the two into custody. Once again Ji Sang has an opportunity to whisper to Amazon. He tells her he won't say a thing under interrogation. In return he asks for the chance to work for her organization.

Young Ji has the ingredients in the box tested and once again a small animal's life is sacrificed. She determines the toxic herbs come only from China. Young Ji goes to question Amazon, who remains a cool customer with ready answers for everything. Young Ji then has Ji Sang brought before her for questioning. He claims to be a simple thief who grabbed the box only because he thought it was valuable.

The interrogation is interrupted by Ryun Gae. She threatens to reveal to the king that Young Ji lied to him about Ja Mi Won if she doesn't get her Amazon back. Young Ji threatens back to reveal the high priestess of the land had a baby, a major no-no. Young Ji goes back to the torture chamber and has her own son beaten in order to try and get answers from him. He manages to not say anything. With a sudden change of heart, Young Ji orders the boy to be cut down and treated for his wounds.

Elsewhere, another scam artist arrives on the scene. A young monk, Shin Don, is telling a girl's fortune by sniffing her foot. Okay, he's kinda weird. Good looking, but weird. There are a line of potential customers outside who are dispersed by angry monk Moo Hak. He's not happy the young monk is in the area. Shin Don claims he's here to make Goryeo a better place for all. The two men stick fight. Moo Hak has the experience to beat the young monk down and run him off.

Ban Ya (that poor, poor girl I feel so sorry for) manages to escape her filthy captors. She encounters Shin Don in the forest and he further helps her to get away.

Young Ji sees a maid high-tailing it from the building where Ji Sang is being treated. Young Ji rushes in to find the boy is about to dig into a meal. She demands to know who said the boy could eat something. The guard stammers out he thought she ordered the food for the boy. Young Ji pushes Ji Sang aside and tests the food. Sure enough, its poisoned. She orders her men to keep an eye on the maid and follow her.

The maid runs straight to Ryun Gae's house, which doesn't make the high priestess very happy. Young Ji and her men surround Ryun Gae's house, demanding to search it for the maid. Ryun Gae says they're messing around with the high priestess of the country, and all without permission from the king. This is enough to make the head guard kind of nervous, so Young Ji goes to get the queen's help in this.

At the same time, in high priestess mode, Ryun Gae goes to see King Kongmin. She tells him she's had a vision that the Ja Mi Won he has is a fake. (So she wasn't bluffing earlier.) Devastated that Young Ji lied to him, Kongmin orders her arrest. Lee In Im makes his one and only appearance in this episode to fuss at Ryun Gae for telling the king about the fake Ja Mi Won. Oh yeah, and Ryun Gae has Moo Yung kill the maid.

Jung Geun is desperate to see his mother, Young Ji, but no one will let him in. He goes to the one powerful person in the land he thinks will help him. That would be none other than his real mother, Soo Ryun Gae.
